Description:  Tiny stream. Starts off flat with little riffles. After about a half mile, it enters a hemlock gorge and starts dropping over sloping ledges and boulders. A wonderful run unfolds. One ten-foot falls just below Alum Rock with many other interesting drops. [Reported 1993]

Difficulties:   Expected compliment of strainers.

Shuttle:   To reach the put-in, exit Interstate 80 at Emlenton, Exit 45 (east of Emlenton). If approaching from the west, turn right/southeast onto State Route 478; if approaching from the east, turn left/southwest on State Route 38 and then left/southeast onto State Route 478 towards St. Petersburg.  Go 2.0 miles and turn left/northeast onto State Route 58 (E Main St) in St. Petersburg. Go 1.9 miles and then bear left/north onto State Route 338. Go 1.2 miles to the put-in where the road crosses the stream. To go to the take‑out, retrace your route to St. Petersburg. At the junction with State Route 478, turn left onto Railroad Street. In about 1.1 miles (your are now on Grassy Flats Road, T-315) you will encounter a road to the left to an old bridge site over the Clarion River.

Normal Wet Period:  No available statistics on seasons.  Since this section is tiny, it should normally be runnable only after a heavy rain or during spring snowmelt.
