Topographic Maps: Lottsville, Pittsfield

County Maps: Warren

Description: This is a farming valley, but you do not see much from the water because of the busy banks. Class I rapids between Class B pools keep it lively to the take‑out. [Reported 1999]

Difficulties: Occasional fallen trees in the first three miles.

Shuttle: To reach the put‑in, go west on US Route 6 from Pittsfield. At State Route 958 turn right/north. Continue through Wrightsville to T 551. Turn left/west onto T 551. Go about 0.5 miles to the bridge at the put‑in. To reach the take‑out, return to US Route 6 and turn left/south. In Pittsfield turn right/west on State Route 27. Go a short distance to the take‑out bridge.

Gauge: None. Check for water from the first bridge (T441) upstream of Pittsfield. This is the shallowest part.

Normal Wet Period: No available statistics on seasons. Since this section is tiny, it should normally be runnable only after a heavy rain or during spring snowmelt.
